Bayamo

Villa Santo Domingo. Hidden in the "Sierra Maestra", near the Yara river this ecolodging is the best for those who look for living the nature. It is also a departure site to 2 unique paths, that we recommend in a very special way.

Sendero a la Comandancia La Plata. After a trip in a mountain vehicle and in other ways on foot, you arrive to the historical site from where Fidel Castro was located during the epic days of his guerrilla warfare.

Sendero al Pico Turquino. Only for habituated tourists and with excellent legs, this is the path that leads to the Cuba's roof, almost 2.000 meters height. The journey takes 2 days with the load at your back, these are :clothes and suitable footwear , some coat (here, the nights are always cold).

Parque Nacional Desembarco del Granma. Located in the southeast extreme of the province of the same name, this park allows us the enjoying of several sceneries, as the exactly place where Fidel Castro went ashore in 1956 in order to begin his guerrilla warfare. The monument and museum of the site "La Demajagua" where it was pronounced the Independence clamor and the Cuban slavery abolition in 1868 .Several interpretative paths through the dense vegetation of the zone , and a lot of carsick roughness , and archeological evidences pre-Colombians; the Cabo Cruz lighthouse, of an important colonial demeanor, and the amazing terrace landscape of the once called "Marinas de Cabo Cruz"," Well Built" by the sea in the south slope of the Sierra Maestra, we recommend:

Sendero El Guafe. Interpretative path provided of explicative sites in its clue places, that allows the ecotourist a "better vision". Here, you can enjoy from the inner part of the virgin forest of the zone, you can visit interesting archeological sites .And with good luck you have the possibility of watching the Zun-zun , the smallest bird in the world.
