Bayamo
Villa Santo Domingo. Hidden in the
"Sierra Maestra", near the Yara river this ecolodging is the
best for those who look for living the nature. It is also a departure
site to 2 unique paths, that we recommend in a very special way.
Sendero
a la Comandancia La Plata.
After a trip in a mountain vehicle and in other ways on foot, you arrive
to the historical site from where Fidel Castro was located during the
epic days of his guerrilla warfare.
Sendero
al Pico Turquino. Only for habituated tourists and with excellent
legs, this is the path that leads to the Cuba's roof, almost 2.000 meters
height. The journey takes 2 days with the load at your back, these are
:clothes and suitable footwear , some coat (here, the nights are always
cold).
Parque
Nacional Desembarco del Granma.
Located in the southeast extreme of the province of the same name, this
park allows us the enjoying of several sceneries, as the exactly place
where Fidel Castro went ashore in 1956 in order to begin his guerrilla
warfare. The monument and museum of the site "La Demajagua"
where it was pronounced the Independence clamor and the Cuban slavery
abolition in 1868 .Several interpretative paths through the dense vegetation
of the zone , and a lot of carsick roughness , and archeological evidences
pre-Colombians; the Cabo Cruz lighthouse, of an important colonial demeanor,
and the amazing terrace landscape of the once called "Marinas de
Cabo Cruz"," Well Built" by the sea in the south slope
of the Sierra Maestra, we recommend:
